If a company could instead purchase an IPS system in Year 1 that cost $100,000 upfront, with $10,000 renewal each year after the first, then the total cost over 5 years is $140,000. This is much cheaper than $1 million. The company at the end of 5 years would have $860,000 more than they did without the IPS.
