Music

I love music. I love listening to it, playing it (or at least pretending to), and even studying it.

In 4th grade I started playing alto sax. By 6th grade I graduated to bari sax, because I was the only student who could get a note out of the huge saxophone!

By 18 I discovered guitar, and by 19 I fell in love with bass guitar. In 1992 one of my songs was played on a their air on Chicago's Loop radio station (major station!). In 1993 I even tried out for one of my favorite bands, Chicago's own Blue Meanies. It was a dream come true. I didn't get the gig, but it was a lot of fun.

I played in bands with friends until around 2000. We published CDs, vinyl, tapes. Did a bit of a midwest tour. By 2000 I was a couple years into a full time career doing IT for a financial firm in the Loop, downtown Chicago.

I never stopped playing music, mostly bass, some guitar. During COVID I learned some piano on a digital keyboard I bought. That helped with music theory quite a bit for some reason. I guess because it's so easy to picture chord inversions and what not.

Anyhow, below are some photos and a brief summary of my music career.
