A Bit About Me

If you’re new here, hi! I’m Mike Kramer, a cybersecurity professional and serial entrepreneur who loves music, especially bass guitar.

Perhaps you're a business owner or decision maker that wants a seasoned professional to advise your organization and improve your security posture.

Or you are a cybersecurity professional that wants to stay informed, improve your skills, and study for a certification to boost your career.

Maybe you just want to learn more about cybersecurity to protect your personal information and your home network.

I will do my best to help all parties.

From Humble Beginnings

As a kid I remember discussing with my father if our new computer would be good with a 20 MB hard drive or if we should upgrade to a 40 MB for a lot more money.

I wrote a text-based computer game called "I'd Rather Be Dead Than Alien" and yes, I remember first getting on the Internet via dial-up modem.

From there I had some rough spots in my life, living in a bad area, getting shot at and witnessing drive-by shootings.

Next thing you know, I leveled up my skills and went on to secure US nuclear power plants and International Airports around the world.

I've secured several Fortune 100 and 500 clients, FED/SLED orgs, and even helped develop software for JSOC (US Joint Special Ops Command), used in missions throughout the world to quickly analyze and correlate captured enemy material.

I had the honor of training the US National Guard in various cyber security topics during their annual Cyber Shield Training Week.

My team won the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security's GeekWeek 2019 for gathering information needed to take down a huge MaaS (Malware as a Service) botnet.

I also learned it’s better to be an expert in 1 thing than to try to be a jack of all trades, especially in your career. It’s what doubled my IT salary and got everyone’s favorite shark, from the hit TV show Shark Tank, to seek me out for my expertise.
